Mike: Hi, Ann. Long time no see. How are the things?

Ann: Oh, hi, Mike. I'm fine, thanks. How about you?

Mike: To tell the truth, Ann, I'm so bored. This weather is killing me. It has been raining for ages. I was looking forward to the summer holidays so much. I hoped to spend much time outdoors playing football and things like that, but no such luck.

Ann: Oh, Mike, I do understand you. It seems that the rain will never stop. Still, I don't think we should be down in the dumps. It's our summer holidays, after all. We have a lot of free time, so we should make use of it.

Mike: But how? I really don't know what to do. My brother plays computer games all day long, and he appears to be quite happy. But computer games are not my cup of tea.

Ann: Why don't you take up some hobby? You can start drawing, or make wooden models of ships or cars. This will take a lot of time, and it's interesting to do such things.

Mike: I don't know. I don't think I'll manage that.

Ann: Why don't you read a book then? There's a new bookstore on High Street. It has an amazing selection of books. You can find all the latest bestsellers there, as well as absolute classics like Jane Austen or Charles Dickens.

Mike: Come on, Anne. Who wants to read a book on holidays? The academic year was so difficult. We had so much homework and books to read. Don't you think we had enough on our plate? I just want to relax and have some fun.

Ann: You can watch a sitcom then. It will keep you busy for a while, and sitcoms are usually very funny.

Mike: That's not half a bad idea. Can you recommend a sitcom to me?

Ann: Well, I think you'd better start with “Friends”. It's a hilarious series about six friends living in New York. There's not much action there, but the dialogues are superb, and the cast is just perfect.

Mike: I have never heard about this sitcom before, but what you are saying sounds interesting. Does it have many seasons?

Ann: There are ten seasons, about twenty-five episodes each. The episodes are relatively short though. They are only about thirty minutes long as far as I remember, so watching a season may take just a day or two.

Mike: OK, I think I will watch it. If it's really interesting, the following week won't be boring to me.

Ann: You'll like it, I'm sure. And I hope in a week the weather will finally get better and we'll be able to spend some time outdoors.

Mike: Let's hope for the best, Ann. Look, I've got to go now. Sorry. Take care. Ann: Bye, Mike.
