John: Hi, Mary. I haven't seen you for ages. How are you?

Mary: Oh, hi, John. I'm glad to see you too. I'm so-so, actually.

John: Really? What's up? Aren't you enjoying your summer holidays?

Mary: Summer holidays are always great, John. Of course, I'm happy about not having to get up early in the morning and do piles of homework.

John: What's the matter then?

Mary: Well, remember my grandparents gave me a generous check for my birthday?

John: Do I remember? I was green with envy. If I got that money, I would go travel somewhere.

Mary: Well, I decided not to travel anywhere very far this year. I might take a tour of Scottish castles and lakes. Miranda, my best friend, took it last year, and she has amazing photos. I'd love to see it all with my own eyes.

John: I guess it's going to be a truly unforgettable experience, but you'll still have a lot of money left. Will you go on a shopping spree?

Mary: Certainly not. That would be a very unwise thing to do. My grandparents have probably saved this money for a couple of years. I want to do something good and memorable.

John: You could give the money to charity.

Mary: My granny could have done it herself if that was the purpose.

John: Okay, I agree with you there. I say, why don't you redecorate your room? You would certainly enjoy the result and it will always remind you of your grandparents.

Mary: Oh, John, that's not a bad idea. My room does look a bit shabby and needs repairing.

John: See, I knew you'd like that.

Mary: Now I have another problem. The last time my room was repaired, ages ago, my mum and dad made all the decisions about the wallpaper and the furniture and things like that. Now I want it to be different.

John: Of course. Now you have a chance to do everything the way you want.

Mary: The thing is, I don't know exactly what I want. I just have some images in my head, and I don't know how to make it all real.

John: I say, Mary, why don't you call a design company? They will understand what you want and show you some ideas. You'll choose one, and they will help you to find the repairman and select the new furniture and decorations.

Mary: Another great idea from you, John. Miranda's sister works for such a company. I should call her.

John: So what are you waiting for? Do it right now.
